Abstract—Selecting a site and geological environment for the final disposal of solidified high-level nuclear
waste (HLW) represents both geological and managerial problems, because various interests should be taken
into account upon the realization of disposal projects. The methods for geologically safe disposal of HLW are
elaborated in this paper on the basis of risk assessment.
